Although the natural springs are referred to as being hot, they’re actually only warm with temperatures barely reaching the mid-to-high 80°s.

While the Spence Hot Springs offer much higher temperatures, the McCauley Hot Springs can be a welcoming alternative during the warmer months. When compared to the frigid water in the San Antonio Creek or East Fork Jemez River, the warm spring is an appealing option.

Continue about two more miles east along East Fork Trailhead to discover the captivating Jemez Falls.
